Rivington Land is working on behalf of City and County of Swansea Council to development manage Swansea Central – a £500 million, 1,000,000 sqft mixed-use regeneration of a key part of the city centre.

The development site comprises the former site of the St David's shopping centre and the LC car park on Oystermouth Road. Both sites will be unified by a broad pedestrian bridge, which will also provide a much enhanced link between the city centre and its outstanding waterfront.

Outline planning consent has been achieved for Rivington Land's masterplan for the whole scheme and the first phase will feature a 3,500-capacity indoor arena that will be managed by ATG (Ambassador Theatre Group) – the global leader in live entertainment.

Now gearing up for a construction start, Phase 1 will provide:

  • the 3,500-capacity indoor arena to be run by ATG
  • a hotel of up to 150 beds and up to 13 storeys
  • the pedestrian bridge over Oystermouth Road linking the south site with the city centre
  • two levels of parking below podium level
  • a multi-storey car park
  • catering and residential units
  • extensive public realm

Phase 2 will follow and and will generate a major qualitative improvement to the city centre's retail and leisure offer.
