SPENCER WINTER is a director of Rivington Land and specialises in development, feasibility, design and construction.

Spencer is a qualified architect and started in development as a director of an architectural practice designing both new shopping centres and extensions / refurbishments. This continued in a more focused role at Debenhams as Company Architect and extended to working on the delivery of 30 new stores, whilst also responsible for managing major refurbishments and property initiatives throughout the portfolio.

During 10 years at Centros, working with David and John, Spencer’s role and experience had translated through project manager to development manager, leading on the design and construction of Portsmouth city centre for Delancey and thereafter advising from a development perspective on schemes of hugely wide-ranging value.

This included numerous in-town and out-of town complex, mixed-use developments on behalf of major funds and owners, including Camberley (Aviva / The Mall / Surrey Heath Borough Council), Hoddesdon (UBS / Morrisons), Durham Arnison Retail Park (CBREGI), Southampton Leisure World (UBS), Southampton East Street Shopping Centre (London & Henley / Morrisons).

More recently at Capital & Regional Spencer’s role as Head of Development included responsibility for development, construction and design of the Capex programme whilst also driving the additional major development opportunities such as Camberley, Walthamstow, Blackburn and Maidstone within the existing portfolio, including new acquisitions such as Ilford.

At Rivington, Spencer is responsible for the development of Swansea Central and Salisbury.
